Becker’s Health IT reports that the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) opened a new centralized “Mission Control Center” to bring technology and coordination teams together in the same location.

Designed in collaboration with GE HealthCare Command Center, Mission Control improves patient flow for OSHU and coordinates bed placement for acute care and behavioral health beds across the entire state.

"Without centralized information and coordination, care teams would have to call around to find a hospital with available capacity. Now, we're working with unprecedented collaboration, improving access for Oregonians and supporting clinicians at every level of care," said Matthias Merkel, MD, Ph.D., senior associate chief medical officer for capacity management and patient flow at OHSU.
