GE HealthCare Command Center supported Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) reduce inpatient LOS by 24 hours from Dec 2022 to April 2023. Furthermore, they achieved a reduction of 16 hours from calendar year 2022 to April 2023.
VMFH deployed multiple tactics to reduce LOS. Some of these were supported with the Patient Manager Tile in areas like Multidisciplinary Rounds (MDRs), focus on Estimated Date of Discharge for improved care coordination amongst the care team and the implementation of Bedside Mobility Assessment Tool (BMAT) to improve ambulation of patients. Both EDD and BMAT are built into Patient Manager.
