A Command Centre driven by AI and machine learning is not something from the future – it’s happening now at Humber River Health. The goal is simple: improve the quality and speed of patient care delivery.
Essential to the organization’s ongoing quest for better patient care, the Command Centre gives clinicians proactive alerts that allow them to take action more quickly and effectively. That’s boosting patient safety and improving outcomes. And, with hospital operations running more smoothly, the system has gained capacity so they can help more patients.
Initially, the Command Centre was set up to keep the hospital running smoothly. It organized the flow of patients and treatments so efficiently, says hospital President and CEO Barbara Collins, “It gave us the equivalent of 35 extra beds.”
